Statement of Purpose: GJCF Daycare is purposed as a place where young children learn as they experiment with materials, share experiences, and participate in an organized curriculum for Christian Development. Staff and Licensing: The center has been licensed since 1994 by the Department of Public Welfare. The staff has training, education and experience in early childhood, CPR certification, and state clearances all of which are mandated by the Department of Public Welfare. The staff to child ration is maintained at or above the levels required by the State Licensing Agency. Hours of Operation: Our Daycare is in operation Monday through Friday from 6:30am-6:00pm. Our center is closed on holidays. Building Security: All doors into our daycare and school are secured. Entry is only permitted through the front doors at the school office. Office personnel are solely responsible for granting and denying admittance into the building. The safety of the student body, staff and visitors is of utmost importance; hence, the utilization of stringent security practices. Your Child's Experience: Not only will your child experience the love and dedication of a caring staff, but they will also experience various celebrations throughout the year. Some celebrations include: Valentines Day Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Party, Back to School Festival and Fall Festival. Greater Johnstown Christian Academy
Mission Statement: To work with families in bringing their children to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, educating them for a life of service to Christ in a contemporary society. GJCF Preschool: It is the philosophy of the Greater Johnstown Christian Academy that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploring and discovering. Preschool children are creative and receptive; therefore, the staff strives to nurture and encourage these qualities in the children who attend. The preschool provides a Christ-centered atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth and development of the child as a whole. The preschool program utilizes the A Beka curriculum. Our daily schedule includes sharing and conversation time, stories, songs and finger plays, creative art activities, games and large muscle activities, Bible time and prayer, field trips throughout the community, food preparation, science activities, exposure to shapes, colors, numbers, letters, simple Spanish and sign language, and the celebration of birthdays and holidays.
